Mike Harmeier and his bandmates first formed Mike and the Moonpies when they were still in their early 20s. They quickly became a staple of the Austin dancehall scene with their signature five-hour sets. They released their album “Cheap Silver & Solid Country Gold” in 2019 to critical acclaim. The band has also been recognized for their live performances, and they have toured extensively across the world.

In the early 2020s, they became international ambassadors for homegrown Texas music, playing everywhere from Abbey Road Studios to the Grand Ole Opry.
